    About Seth Gillman Therapy

I am a fully qualified counsellor, holding a Post-Graduate Diploma in Counselling from Thames Valley University. I am a Registered Member of BACP, work within the BACP Ethical Framework and am working towards BACP Accreditation.

I have been a practising counsellor, first as a student and now post-qualification, since May 2008. I have experience of supporting clients with a wide range of emotional and mental health issues. I began working with Bereft, a bereavement counselling agency in Ealing, London then went on to work at the Hillingdon association of Mind, the leading mental health charity. Since September 2011 I have been working with The Place2Be, a nationwide children's counselling service based in schools around the country.

I am now working in private practice with clients of all backgrounds and am here to help with your emotional and mental wellbeing. I work from a Person-Centred perspective, offering unconditional acceptance and warmth, although I will gently challenge clients if the need arises.

I am highly experienced in the field of bereavement, counselling those who have experienced the death of a loved one and helping them deal with their grief. I have undertaken extensive training in this field and have worked with the bereavement organisation Bereft. As well as adults, I have wide experience of assisting bereaved children and ran a bereavement group at a Hillingdon junior school between 2002 - 2011. I also work therapeutically with individual children, as well as with the families of the children I support.

In addition, I am a trained facilitator at Child Bereavement UK. I have run workshops and training sessions for school teachers and other educational staff, helping them to support bereaved children and build children's resilience and self-esteem.

In the past I was a regular contributor to Hayes FM radio, where I discussed covered topics such self-harm in young people and the problems faced by young carers.
